I caught this large plant early one night. I liked the way the available light and the shadows played on the plant.

This is a huge palm tree that stood out amongst other large palm trees. I wish there had been just a little more light. This is in the north east edge of Bakersfield.

Wet Pomegranite 2 Macro

A macro (closeup) exercise that I thought turned out pretty good. This is of a young Pomegranite bush we have in our landscaping. Maybe it will actually produce fruit this year.

This was shot at White Forrest Nursery in Bakersfield. California. Our climate suits this sort of Landscaping.

Banana Plant at night

This was taken back in January. The 17th to be exact. This was from about the first time I had used My new Fuji dslr at Night. The purple spot is from the lens refracting the light that was right above the plant. The banana plant is used quite frequently around here in landscaping, but dose not produce any fruit.

But yet, some 180 miles to the west, I have seen an actual Banana Farm, where the temperatures are much more mild, because of the Pacific ocean.

Azaleas in Bloom

Another Image from the Center of the Beale Library in Bakersfield, California. I'm certain the enclosed setting and the humidity from the fountain allowed for such a bloom of flowers. These just don't bloom like this elsewhere around here.

These flowers were pretty amazing in size and numbers, at least to me. I found these on the inner fountain area of a local Library on Truxton Ave. in Bakersfield, CA. I love the colors these flowers posses.
