The Image Posted to day at Posterous is a night time shot with a little extra going on. There is a car in the picture, but you just see the taillights as they slice through the top third of the Image. The night time setting on the camera allows for the shutter to stay open much longer than normal. You time the shot to include the car as it passes you. The length of time the car is in the shot is not enough for the car to be picked up, but the red stop lights are plenty bright enough to register, and as the car moves down the road, it leaves those red streaks you see.

Helicopter Lights
Now the Helicopter has moved across the Night sky and is seen over the Hospital, the large building in the Photo.
I apologize for not posting for a while. Life had taken control again, but seems to have lightened up some what for right now. Seems that for the first time since I started this blog, I actually have a wealth of photos stored up. I'd much rather it be this way than having to rely on the Archives to get me by.

Night Sky 2
Something interesting took place with this next series of Night time images. Very far to the right side just below one of the Power Lines you will see some red light. That is a helicopter as it is entering into these next few shots. The length of the red light is the length of the copter's flight between when the camera first opened up to take the image and when it closed.

Night Sky
Looking out on to north Bakersfield from what I call the Small Bluffs. I spent a lot of time on these bluffs growing up. I hadn't been to this spot in a long time, and not sure I had ever been there before at night.

Windows at night

This is the last night shot in this series. This is the front again of the Cleaners in East Bakersfield.
Also, that storage problem on my computer I had referred to has been fixed big time. Purchased a 2 terrabyte external Hard drive, so maybe about 2020 I shall be complaining again about storage, but I doubt it.

Night still in the East side

Bakersfield. This is the front of a Laundry service. This was the Inspiration to start all these night shots. I saw this one time as I drove by in the Dark. Worked out pretty good I think.
The green is coming from the light and Is seen by the camera, but not the naked Eye.

Another East Side Photo
This was taken just down the street from the Previous one. This is of a bar that was being rather loud as I was taking these images. The music loud and the patrons were easily heard trying to yell over the music. I was probably about a block away from the bar. I couldn't understand them, just that they were trying to out do the music. Must have been pretty crazy inside the bar.

East Bakersfield at night
Just east of Union Ave. It was trying to rain on me and I had to rush the shot a bit. I believe the red flare at the end of the street is a car's brake light. There wasn't anything there glowing like that when I took the shot.

60028

Another shot from Halloween Night, but it could have been any time really, except it wasn't. There was something about that night and the weather. Great sky for snapshots.

This was Halloween Night

If it hadn't been so humid and warm, it would have been a perfect overcast and cloudy night with the atmosphere on that night.

My how time flies

I apologize. I had no idea I had skipped a few days here. Life has just been crazy lately. This is the last official Halloween image. My daughter and grandson doing their thing collecting goodies. He was a little scarecrow.
Technically, I realize it isn't perfect, But I think it helps add some emotion to the image. I liked the way it turned out. Hand held night shot.

It's not Halloween ...

You'd be absolutely right in spotting that. See, I have become a creature of habit. I take snapshots, I collect a bunch, I wait, Then I develop them, sort of, process them actually, then group them and go on my merry way. A process, a habit, that leaves me about a month behind time wise. Yep, I'm just now getting to the Halloween stuff. Shoot me. This stuff is free. You like the quirkiness around here or you would not keep coming back.
So plan on Christmas stuff around the first of February. Or Not.

Little Anthony Again
I have only one more after this that I will post. I have about 15 others I could post, but I shan't, unless of course I get great demands for such nonsense.
