Rail Road Images

I took a visit to the Bakersfield California Railroad yard, or at least one of them, and took some candid shots. This one ended up in a black and white tone.

Youngin'

I sat behind this little dude for about 10 minutes and he was moved around so much by his parents that this was the best I could come up with Image wise.

An Amazing Shot

This is a great Image of Ted Williams. I got this from Upper Deck, A baseball card manufacturer, Quite a few years ago. It is a small Poster sized Image which I am glad I own in many regards.

OOps ...

Yep I screwed up and forgot to post here yesterday. So I posted an extra one to make up for it. These are the same rider and horse head as in Rider in Sepia a few days ago. Hope you enjoy it.

A black and white tree
This is from Downtown Bakersfield, CA. I have this thing for what I consider nice looking trees. So many are unfortunately butchered in the pruning process by yahoos that do not have a clue what they are doing.
This is one of those pictures, in my eyes, where the image just doesn't capture what it was I was seeing. This truly is an amazing looking tree in person. I think it is because it just doesn't do the scale and size of the tree justice.

Car Owner

Found him getting ready to take off in a car I had all picked out to get some photos of. He was kind enough to not only let me shoot his car, but let me get a couple of images of him as well. I went with a black and white treatment of this one.
Also became gainfully employed again. Yeehaaaa!

A new night ...

This is the first photo I have presented with my new Fuji SLR (single lens reflex). I love this camera and have had it for about 2 weeks. I needed to get out and take some images of any worth first before presenting it to you guys. I am still on quite the learning curve, but it allows much more freedom of Photography than my old beat up point and shoot.
Hope you enjoy.

gate black and white

Yes the composition is weak . But there is just something about the gate going away and all the detail that I like about this image. From Downtown Bakersfield.

Wood Grain

This is part of some abandoned railroad ties I found. I thought the grain was interesting in this wood.

Another Abstract Image

I took this while visiting a lumber store a while back. Reminds me of the start of the Twilight zone from a long time ago.
I just noticed with these last 2 images I uploaded that when you click on the image it wants you to save the file on your computer instead of displaying the larger version of the image. I don't know what is going on with that. Hopefully it is just a very temporary situation.

Rooftop Dishes

These were shot at the beginning of summer this year. I loved the way the shadows played across the different curves and sizes of the array of dishes. I liked even better as a black and white image.

Long Shadow

I thought it was interesting how the shadow from the light played across the metal side of the building. A black and white image.

Reflections through a chain Link fence ...

A Section of industrial warehouse in Northern Bakersfield Reflected in a pool of water. Yes, it is drab and gray. Industrial warehouses don't usually have much in the way of a color sense. That is why I chose to go Black and white on this one.

Dirt Tracks ...

I guess it was the size of the tire tread and the gentle curve that caught my eye on this one. I finished it with black and white and upped the contrast some.

Cement Truck - Black and white

So if I can't get out to the Images, luckily the images come to me. This is construction going on just across the street from me.

For some reason, it won't work ...

I saw this on a side walk in front of an apartment complex near my house one day last year. It seems to have one major flaw.
