I don't know why but I have never been a fan of Buffalo Wings. Maybe I haven't had good ones yet.
Odds are Rachel, if you go by the term "Buffalo wings", you never will have good ones. With all due respect to Alton Brown, who my wife is a big fan of, a) we don't call them Buffalo wings, and b) no self respecting Western New Yorker would cook them in an oven.

You want real wings, check out the Anchor Bar's website...they ship them all over the place. Of course, I like to just go there when I am back home, something I plan to do in the next couple of months.
oh my god, that looks delicious.
Thanks for dropping by, both Chris and Rachel.

Chris, have you tried this recipe? It does a pretty good job of recreating deep fried with out all the grease and fat. I find em very good.

Thanks Chungyen. I appreciate it. They tasted every bit as good also. They had been cooking for a while and the smell was driving me nuts. Needless to say, they didn't look like that for long.

Beamer
I have tried it Beamer...the wife is a big fan of Alton Brown and Good Eats...but for me, being from back home, they just don't match up. People would ridicule you all the way over the Canadian border if you were to ask for them non deep fried in Buffalo. lol

To me, they started as a bar food...the deep frying is a big thing. I can understand the low fat outlook, but to me the taste is completely different. :)
Apparently I am not the Chicken wing expert that you are, I have only had them a few times out side of home with Alton Brown's Recipe and they were baked as well. I though these tasted a whole lot better than the other ones I tried. I bow to the expert.

Beamer
lol not a matter of bowing to the expert...I didn't realize a lot of places were doing baked. I'm more of a traditionalist if anything. If I eat wings here in St. Louis, I buy them and make my own at home...I have my own wing sauce that I like, and they tend to frown if you bring it with you in restaurants. :D I guess it is all in where you are and how they do things. If you ever get up to Buffalo, try em and see if you notice the difference.
